Careem And Uber To Get Competition From ARY’s Sahulat Say Chalo
Despite the best efforts of Careem and Uber, these globally popular ride-hailing apps keep facing numerous barriers in their quest for dominance of the market in Pakistan. From opposition by local taxi drivers to incidents of harassment, these startups have a lot of roadblocks to overcome if they want to stay in the country.
They also keep facing competition from new entrants as setting up a platform like this is relatively simple.
Here to give stiff competition to these two is ARY’s newly launched venture, Sahulat Say Chalo.
The ARY SSC service is currently only available in Karachi and promises to get users rides within minutes. They also boast of holding the distinction of the first “Made in Pakistan” car and rickshaw hire company.
This newly launched venture is a part of ARY’s “Be an Entrepreneur” program.
The service works much like other ride-hailing apps where rides can be booked using a smartphone app.
What makes this distinct from other apps like Careem and Uber are that ARY SSC gives it’s users the option to hail rides by visiting a Sahulat Bazaar and booking rides through a kiosk.
This is going to be the USP of this service as no other ride-hailing service offers this option. This option might come in handy when one cannot book a ride from their phone due to the absence of internet or dead phone etc.
Once a ride has been booked, the system matches the customer with an executive (driver) along with details of the executive on the app screen.
ARY SSC has also introduced some new features which show how the company is pulling out all stops to ensure that the service is here to stay.
- No peak, off-peak or surge pricing.
- Rates are comparable to Careem and Uber for both rickshaws and cars.
- Ability to pause a ride if the driver is refueling or changing a flat tire.
- Emergency Button in the app for immediate protection from any sort of issue.
- All users become ARY E-Sahulat Members after signing up for ARY SSC, allowing for additional discounts.
The no surge pricing feature is a very smart move on ARY’s part as the recent dissatisfaction with Uber and Careem’s surge pricing has driven many users to complain on social media and switch apps.
We can’t wait to see how this new service stacks up against Careem and Uber. Drop us a comment if you have used this app and let us know your experience.
