Coke Studio 10 Is On Its Way And It Has A Mesmerizing Lineup This Time

Coke Studio Pakistan has evolved from a show with a small fan base to a global sensation with a cult following. The show has managed to change the face of Pakistani music with its unique artist collaborations and mesmerizing re-imaginations of songs. With the show now set to hit then ten-year mark, expectations are high for this milestone.

While the show originally began and prospered under the showmanship of Rohail Hyatt, Strings took over in 2014. Though rumors had been swirling for a while that Pakistan would have to say goodbye to the show in its tenth season with Rohail Hyatt returning to take the helm, the reality differs.

Strings is gearing up for the show’s biggest season to date, with nine different producers coming in to lend their unique perspectives to the show.

While the last season saw both Ali Noor and Ali Hamza lending their powerhouse vocals as well as their compositions to the show , this season only Ali Hamza is set to return as a solo artist as well as a producer.

Other artists that are going to lead the production helm are Mekaal Hassan, Salman Ahmed, Sajjad Ali, Sahir Ali Bhagga, and Jaffar.

After mesmerizing the nation with his soulful duet with Abida Parveen, Ali Sethi is set to return as a featured artist along with Momina Mustehsan, Shafqat Amanat Ali and Umair Jaswal.  This year Coke Studio will also mark the debut of Danial Zafar and Sajjad Ali’s daughter Zau Ali who is going to feature in an English song produced by her father.

According to sources, each episode is also going to feature a tribute song. The new season is all set to honor the musical maestros of Pakistan. Shafqat Amanat Ali is going to pay tribute to Faiz Ahmed Faiz with his rendition of  Bol Kay Lab Azaad Hain while Umair Jaswal will honor Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan with his take on Dum Mast Qalandar.

Ali Sethi will remember Mehdi Hasan by singing Ranjish Hi Sahi while Ali Zafar, Ali Hamza and Strings will come together in Us Rah Par to remember Junaid Jamshed.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Ali Noor and Salman Ahmed are also going to join forces for a new rendition of Sayonee.

This season will also feature recently departed musician Aamir Zaki’s farewell performance on a track produced by Jaffer Zaidi. Keeping their tradition of starting the show with a joint rendition of a song aimed at a cause, this season will kick-start with all the stars coming together to sing the National Anthem.

Other stars that are going to be part of this season include Humaira Channa, Amanat Ali, Ali Zafar, Farhan Saeed, Salman Ahmed, Ataullah Eesakhelvi, Aima Baig, Ahmed Jehanzeb, Humaira Arshad, QB, Nabeel Shaukat and Natasha Khan.

After the powerhouse performances of the last season, the nation is eagerly awaiting to see what magical renditions will this season bring.
